The VPN keeps disconnecting

Short drops are often caused by weak Wi-Fi or battery saving.

1. Check your Wi-Fi

Turn Fortis off and watch a video for a few minutes. If it stops without Fortis too, the problem is your Wi-Fi. Restart your router or move closer to it.

2. Pick a country near you

Connections to far-away countries drop more often. Choose your own country or a neighbouring one.

3. Change the protocol to OpenVPN

See how on Windows or Android. On Android, choose OpenVPN (TCP 443).

4. Android: stop battery saving for Fortis

Open your phone's Settings, then Apps, Fortis VPN, Battery, and choose Unrestricted. Android then stops closing Fortis in the background.

5. Remove other VPN apps

Two VPN apps on one device get in each other's way. Remove the ones you do not use.
