Connected to the VPN but no internet

Fortis says you are connected, but websites will not open. Try these in order.

Last updated September 25, 2026

1. Turn Fortis off and on again

Disconnect, wait five seconds and connect again.

2. Pick another country

One server may be busy. Choose a different country or city.

3. Change the protocol

Choose OpenVPN and connect again. See how on Windows or Android.

4. On hotel, airport or café Wi-Fi

These networks often ask you to accept their terms on a web page first. Turn Fortis off, open any website, accept the terms, then connect again.

5. Turn off other VPN apps

Another VPN or proxy app on the same device can stop Fortis from working. Turn it off or remove it.

6. Restart your device

Restart your computer, phone or TV, then connect again.
