When the VPN cannot turn on, the Connect screen shows CONNECTION FAILED, with the reason underneath. Try these in order and stop as soon as the VPN connects.
- 1
Click Try fastest
Fortis tries again with the quickest server near you.
- 2
Check your internet
Open a website such as google.com. If it does not open, the problem is your Wi-Fi or cable, not Fortis. Restart your router, or move closer to it.
- 3
Pick another country
Click Change and choose a different country. One server may be busy or under maintenance.
- 4
Change the protocol
Some Wi-Fi networks, often in hotels, offices and schools, block VPNs. Click Settings, choose OpenVPN, then connect again.
- 5
Restart your PC
Restart Windows, open Fortis and connect again.
- 6
Check your antivirus
An antivirus or firewall can block Fortis. See Antivirus or firewall is blocking FortisVPN.
