The free trial lasts 7 days and is for new Fortis accounts. Have these ready:
- An email address you can open right now. We send a code to it.
- A bank card. You are not charged today. The card is charged only when the 7 days are over, unless you cancel first.

Click Start your 7-day free trial
Open Fortis. The link is at the bottom of the sign-in screen.

Fill in your details
Fill in the four boxes from top to bottom:
- Username: a short name, 8 characters at most.
- Email: your email address.
- Password: at least 12 characters, with a capital letter, a number and a symbol such as ! or ?. The bar turns green and says Strong when it is good.
- Repeat password: the same password again.

Tick the box and click Create account
Tick I agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, then click Create account.

Type the code from your email
Open your inbox and look for an email from Fortis with a 6-digit code. Type it into the six boxes and click Confirm email. No email after a minute? Look in your spam folder, or click Resend the code.

Choose a plan
Click the plan you want. This is the plan you pay for after the free trial. Then click Start free trial.

Click Got it
Fortis shows Finish paying in your browser and opens your web browser. Click Got it.

Check the price in your browser
Your browser shows a page named Secure Payment. Check that it shows your email and the plan you picked, and that the price says €0.00 today.

Type your address and card
Under Billing Address, type your street, city and postal code, and pick your country. Under Card Information, type the long number on the front of your card, the expiry date (month and year) and the 3-digit CVC code from the back of the card.

Click Start 7-Day Free Trial
The page shows Free Trial Started! You can close the browser.

Go back to Fortis
Fortis shows Free trial started. You are ready: see Connect and disconnect.

After the 7 days
When the trial is over, your card is charged the price of the plan you picked, and the plan renews by itself. Open Subscription in the menu on the left at any time to see how many days are left and the date to cancel by. To stop before you are charged, see Cancel your plan or get invoices.
The button says Continue to payment instead
The free trial is only for accounts that have never had a plan. If you had Fortis before, the button says Continue to payment and your card is charged today.
