FortisVPN for Windows will not install

The installer is blocked, asks for permission, or stops half way.

1. Windows protected your PC

If a blue screen says Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway. Only do this for the file you downloaded from our download page.

2. Click Yes

When Windows asks Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, click Yes. On a work or school computer, you may need the person who manages it.

3. Restart and try again

Restart your PC and open the installer again.

4. Remove the old Fortis first

Open Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps. Find Fortis VPN, click the three dots and choose Uninstall. Restart, then install again.

5. Pause your antivirus

Some antivirus apps stop the install. Pause it for a few minutes, install Fortis, then turn it back on.

Fortis works on Windows 10 and 11. Step by step: Install Fortis on Windows.
